Lignjadura 2025 held in Bol: despite strong winds, a successful second day and a rich humanitarian program
The traditional Lignjadura 2025 took place on October 3rd and 4th in Bol. This year’s edition was marked by strong bora winds that prevented the competition from being held on the first day. However, on the second day the weather calmed down, allowing 30 teams to set out to sea and successfully complete the event.
The best squid-fishing teams of this year’s Lignjadura were:
- 1st place: team Fameja (Domagoj, Brane, Dorian and Laura)
- 2nd place: team Ko je pa u more (Melani, Jeri, Roberto and Petra)
- 3rd place: team Bez veze (Stipe, Branka and Ivano)
The most successful teams received stone statues crafted by sculptor Viktor Ivulić, valuable gift vouchers from Extreme Fishing Split, as well as cleaning and sandblasting services from Salona Dental and Jerčić Dental clinics.
Special prizes were awarded in the following categories:
Biggest squid: stone statue, fishing rod, and DTD – High Quality Squid Jigs gift package
Oldest participant: DTD gift package
Youngest participant: DTD gift package
Miss Lignjadura: sash, stone statue, and Mi Olive oil
This year, the organizers also rewarded all-female teams with a €200 dinner voucher for one of the Bol restaurants – Taverna Riva, Vendetta by Vagabundo – Restaurant & Sushi Bar, or other Bol restaurants.
In addition to the competition, a charity raffle was held with numerous valuable prizes:
Lavazza coffee machine (donated by Viktor Gracin)
Signed Ivan Rakitić jersey (donated by Marko Bralić and Željko Ščepanović)
7 kg monkfish (donated by Jerko Restović – Hajduk fish market)
€200 voucher for CHOPSTIX Pan Asian Cuisine & Sushi Bar Zagreb
Three abdominal examinations by Dr. Punda
As in previous years, all proceeds from the event were donated to charity, reaffirming Lignjadura’s humanitarian character and its important social role within the local community.
Despite the poor weather at the beginning, Lignjadura 2025 once again demonstrated that tradition, togetherness, and goodwill are the foundation of this distinctive Bol event.
