Bol – the pearl of Brač’s southern side is the oldest coastal settlement on Brač, nestled in the tranquility and beauty of the island’s southern landscapes. It lies at the foot of the mighty Bolska Kruna and Vidova Gora – the highest peak of all Adriatic islands (778 m) – which provides a magnificent backdrop.

The town stretches for several kilometers along the very shoreline, where the sea dazzles with its incredible clarity – waves as transparent as cut crystal. Along the coast, numerous beaches line up, each with its own unique charm.

To the west of the town lies Zlatni Rat beach, one of the most famous symbols of the Adriatic. This natural phenomenon, almost half a kilometer long, is shaped by winds and sea currents, constantly changing its very tip. Composed of fine pebbles, Zlatni Rat stretches like a tongue into the blue sea, creating a scene that remains etched in memory.

On the eastern end of Bol, on the Glavica peninsula, stands the Dominican monastery, surrounded by the serenity and scents of the Mediterranean. Its museum houses a rich archaeological collection, artworks, and objects of historical value.

Bol’s center is gathered around the harbor, where historic buildings intertwine harmoniously – a Baroque summer residence, the Loža with its small chapel, a Renaissance-Baroque palace with an art gallery, the parish church, a small square, and the Kaštil fortress. All of this blends seamlessly into stone alleys and clusters of houses of traditional folk architecture.

The western part of the town was built in more recent times and is home to Bol’s main hotels, just a step away from Zlatni Rat.
Bol was made for those seeking a blend of active holiday and relaxation. Its coastline hides countless peaceful corners, while sunny slopes are scented with sage and rosemary. In the background, the chirping of cicadas plays the primal music of the Mediterranean.

Whoever visits Bol will find their piece of happiness here – whether in the view from Vidova Gora, a stroll by the sea, or the moment when the sun sinks into the sea.
