About Bol
Bol is the oldest coastal settlement on Brač. It lives in the solitude of the southern landscapes, in the central part of the southern side of the island, at the foot of Bolska Kruna and Vidova Gora – the highest island elevation and also the highest peak of all the Adriatic islands (778m).
It stretches for several kilometers along the very edge of the sea. The sea in front of him is exceptionally clear, the transparent waves seem like polished crystal. Bol is full of attractive beaches.
West of Bol, Zlatni Rat beach is one of the largest and most beautiful natural attractions of the Adriatic. Like a tongue, it stretches almost half a kilometer into the blue sea. It grows by the deposition and deposition of small pebbles around an underwater reef. The peak of Zlatni Rat changes shape, trying to please the will of the waves and sea currents.
On the eastern side of Bol, on the Glavica peninsula, a Dominican monastery rises in solemn peace. Its museum has a rich archaeological collection and a variety of valuable objects and paintings. The urban core of Bol was formed along the harbor. There is a Baroque summer mansion, a Lodge with a small church, a Renaissance-Baroque palace housing an art gallery, a parish church, a small square and the Castle. The stylish buildings fit unobtrusively into a harmonious whole of house complexes of original folk architecture.
The western side of the village was built more recently. The main Bol hotels are located in the areas towards Zlatni Rat.
Bol is a location with exceptional maritime advantages. Its coast, with its many corners of peace and comfort, provides a feeling of vast open space, created for meditative relaxation and active vacation.
Under the sunlit glades, the scent of medicinal sage and rosemary dwells, and the chirping of crickets is the deepest, most primal music. Every visitor can find a piece of their own enjoyment in this area.
