The Dominican Monastery in Bol is located on the Glavica peninsula, at the eastern entrance to the town. Founded in the 15th century, it served for centuries as an important spiritual and cultural center of the island of Brač.
The monastery also houses a museum, renovated in 2021, which preserves a rich heritage across three floors. On the ground floor are amphorae and archaeological finds from the Adriatic, while the main collection includes artworks by Venetian masters and valuable donations from Bol families. Particularly noteworthy are liturgical objects, Glagolitic books, and rare furniture from nearby hermit monasteries.
The monastery remains today a vibrant place that unites sacred tradition, art, and history. Its seaside location, with views of the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea and the island of Hvar, makes it one of the most beautiful cultural landmarks on Brač.
