Murvica

Murvica

Murvica is a picturesque little village located on the southern slopes of the island of Brač, about 6 kilometers west of Bol. This peaceful spot is characterized by traditional stone houses and vineyards that stretch almost to the sea.

Beaches

Murvica is known for its beautiful pebble beaches and crystal-clear sea, surrounded by pine forests. In addition to the main beach, nearby coves such as Dračeva Luka offer a more intimate Mediterranean experience.

Dragon’s Cave

Above Murvica lies Dragon’s Cave, unique for its 15th-century reliefs, including the depiction of a mythical dragon. The cave served as a place of prayer for Glagolitic priests from Poljica and is one of the most remarkable historical sites on Brač.

Monasteries and Hermit Constructions

In the surroundings of Murvica are the remains of hermit monasteries such as Dračeva Luka, Stipančić, and Silvio, which testify to the rich spiritual tradition of this part of the island.

Murvica is a charming village that combines natural beauty and history. Just a few minutes away from Bol and Zlatni Rat, it offers peaceful beaches, mystical caves, and traces of monastic life preserved in an authentic Mediterranean setting.
